Another Weekend at Grammy and Bocky's

We went to Grammy and Bocky's again last weekend since Jaidyn Steinberg was having her birthday party on Sunday. We had a lot of fun, as usual. Allie wanted to see Miss Carol, so my mom took her and Caitlin by. Allie was thrilled to see her. Caitlin turned 8 months old, which is so hard to believe! This weekend we are at home relaxing and trying to get caught up on cleaning and laundry. So exciting!

Weekend at Grammy and Bocky's

Allie, Caitlin and I went to Grammy and Bocky's (my parents) this weekend. Each of us gets spoiled in her own way--Allie gets to do (and eat) whatever she wants, Caitlin gets held most of the time, and I get to sleep and work on the computer. Grammy made Allie a blue Cinderella dress. Allie was so excited! She also bought her some "glass" slippers. They're a little big and give her blisters, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for fashion!

It's with a heavy heart that I tell you that we lost Joe on Friday, April 11, 2008. To sum it up, to know Joe was to love Joe. There will never be another dog like Joe--he was a wise old soul, and seemed almost human to us. In fact, we called him the "human bean," which was a spin off of one of his many nicknames, Joebean. He was also known as the Doggie Lama, due to the combination of his wise soul and a neck that was as long as a llama's. He was diagnosed with Valley Fever shortly after moving to Bakersfield when we noticed he was rapidly losing weight. After surviving Parvo as a puppy and a coyote attack about 3 1/2 years ago, the Valley Fever was finally too much for his little body to handle. We are completely devastated and miss him terribly. We laid him to rest in Ridgecrest next to Cinder, my parents' dog, and Spur, Steve's dog. We can imagine him having a great time running through doggie heaven with Cinder, eating ice cream and having epic battles. We will love Joe always.

Driller News

The Drillers are the CIF-CS Division I Champions!!! We beat Clovis West 19-16. It was a tough game, and we were actually down the entire game until the fourth quarter. There's a slim chance of going to the state game, but it's a long shot.

In league play, the Drillers won the Southeast Yosemite League title. We ended up 10-1 this season, 6-0 for the Southeast Yosemite League. We defeated West, Grant (Sacramento), Stockdale, Buchanan (Clovis), Garces, Foothill, Golden Valley, East, Highland and Liberty. Our only loss was to Centennial by 2 points.
